Random Thoughts/Opinions

-Why do some wrestling fans think that they are entitled to say whatever they want to the wrestlers? It is impossible for me to imagine that if these same people met a player from their favorite team or their favorite actor/actress that they would behave in the same inappropriate manner. These particular fans feel that it is OK to speak to a wrestler by his “real name”…as if that makes you “smart”…WRONG…it is just stupid. Like calling Stallone “Rambo” if you met him. Then the fans who like to mention things to the wrestler about their personal lives..an example of this would be the fan that likes to say to a wrestler “How are things at Olive Garden?” or “How are things at the store?” Everyone needs to earn a living!! Does that make the person saying that feel better about themselves? Finally, there is the fan that thinks hugging and/or hitting on a diva/knockout is their right as a “long time fan” or whatever. Enough already! Show some respect….you do not need to climb across the table at a convention to try & get a hug. The table is there for a reason, think of it as a “stop sign”…if the talent wants to hug you they will…stealing hugs is just creepy. Wrestlers are characters in the ring and at these conventions. When the show/convention ends they do the same things that we all do…..they have bills, they have families to take care of.

-Best part is the people who just read that and feel offended ARE probably the fans that behave this way.

-It is nice to see that the WWE did not give everyone what they expected and hand Chris Jericho a ticket to the WrestleMania main event after 3 brief appearances on Raw and one Royal Rumble match.  Guys like Sheamus, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler & The Miz have worked very hard to elevate their status on the roster and I for one am very happy to see these guys along with CM Punk & Daniel Bryan getting the chance to carry the ball going into the biggest wrestling event of the year.

-When WWE announced almost a year ago that it would be Cena/Rock at Wrestlemania did anyone else wonder how the WWE writers would handle this year long angle? I did and I was 99% sure that they would screw it up. Unless some things change over the next few weeks I see this match being nothing more than a total failure. In ECW Tazz & Sabu had a feud for a year and in that year they never touched each other and by the time they got in the ring the anticipation was nearly unbearable. Anyone feel that with Cena and Rock right now? Having The Rock back for a match seemed like a great idea but he has not been present enough to make this as interesting as it could be. Not to mention trying to turn John Cena into “Superman” by having Kane beat up his little buddy Zach Ryder has failed. Cena is hated by any fan past puberty and Zach Ryder’s character is being destroyed in an effort to make this all happen.Cena is a great ambassador and a great guy but I think he needs to go away…time for fans to get a break from him and his cartoon character ways. Come back as a believable tough guy…a guy who does not always do the right thing….the Hulk Hogan good guy thing just does not work for me.

-Another ECW Reunion is coming. I love ECW and I love what the people who worked there did to change the world of wrestling. I am just wondering if lighting could ever strike twice. For the sake of wrestling…I really hope so!

Low Road straight down……

-To the Promoters running these conventions: If you think that vendors are somehow obligated to give you autographs and photo ops for…..you are WRONG! If there are deals to be made do it prior to the event. That is far more professional than asking for 10-20 autographs for “trade” in front of the talent. It makes me look bad and it surely makes you look bad. Try having some professional courtesy….hell let’s call it what it is common sense! Besides the whole “trade” thing is a joke. I do not want anything from you unless it is money. There are those who professional courtesy is extended and that is because they in return treat me with the same professional courtesy.

-If a radio show wants to set up at your convention….you do NOT make them pay for tables. You should be smart enough to realize that they are giving you FREE advertising every week leading up to your event. They are promoting your show to 100,000+ worth of listeners and you see no value in that? Then again, you want to “trade” a stack of autographs that have NO value for a stack of my guests autographs that you have already sold to someone else? Or you want to trade of “few” autos from your top guest because my talent in your eyes is of less value? Get a grip……

- Why put your top “vendor” guest in the room with your Super Ticket guests? The ST room will already have traffic. By hiding your top vendor guest, you are saying that you could care less if the vendors in the other room make any money. Traffic in the vendor room is a must and if there is none because you have everyone on line in your room what good does that do the rest of us? Why you would care, you got are money right? Yet, you want to come over to my table and “trade” me a stack of garbage for my guest…..Seriously?

“The Low Road”……exit for the High Road is on your right.
